At the core of every significant neighborhood in San Francisco are the small businesses that help define the community's identity and viability. The Haight-Ashbury District is no different and it hosts a variety of merchants that not only cater to the tourist trade but, most importantly, provide the services and goods that make this street a commercial hub.
The Haight-Ashbury Street Fair (HASF) began in 1978 as a tribute to the commercial turnaround that occurred in the mid-70's and which continues today. Our event provides an economic boost and exposure for the many merchants on Haight Street. One of our goals to ensure that the businesses in our community also benefit from our annual celebration.
HASF salutes the establishments that have lent their support to our event over the years. We hope that you will become familiar with the Haight Street merchants and patronize their businesses before, during and after the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair.
